“Beautiful Because Bluebird” is a short film that collages live action video, 3D models, colored pencils, and watercolors with an original soundtrack in the tradition of ‘Fantasia’. The music sampled and remixed references Stephen Foster’s ‘Beautiful Dreamer’, The Beatles’ ‘Because’ and Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Blue Bird and Princess Florine’. The soundtrack is also edited with sounds I’ve collected over the past year of my travels and life experiences. The first movement of the piece is an adagio, or slower paced visual study. The second movement is an upbeat remix of Tchaikovsky’s short piece from Sleeping Beauty. The visual assets and highly edited soundscape further my exploration of merging pop culture, animation history, and shared experiences into
my work.
